Kasandra served as a member of the Vaccination Taskforce established by the City of Las Cruces to assist in distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine.

The Las Cruces Fire Department has received an initial budget to begin a crisis intervention program called Project L.I.G.H.T or Lessen the Incidents of Grief, Harm, and Trauma.
Designates the El Paseo and South Solano, and West Picacho areas as Metropolitan Redevelopment Areas (MRAs). The MRA designation, followed by the development of an MRA plan, are the first steps in providing the City with the tools needed to facilitate the redevelopment of targeted areas of Las Cruces.
